Accountability

The factors propelling me to Ar from Port Kar were many, some recorded within these rence pages, the most incriminating however would be given no voice, the reasons obvious. At the time the two common thread remains the same today, safety & anonymity. A necessity to those with something to hide.
To a woman such as me, without the necessary means to command an battalion of shadowing trained guards at my beck and call, the sense of safety has always been vital to me. After the kidnapping I found myself briefly questioning such a decision, since then it escalated. The element in the City seems to have taken a dark ominous turn from bad to worse, shattering the calm that previously existed.

The past two hands have claimed the lives of at least two propionate citizens and the attempt on my former companion, the deputy Administrator.
I suppose my background has made me jaded when it comes to accepting the loss of a vagrant, I am not sure why exactly.
Perhaps I am no different than most, even if they won't admit it we all weight the cost of a human life according to social status, caste affiliation and homestone. I wonder if the turn of events concerning both the tragic death of the City Slaver and the City Scribe could have been avoided if the first death would have been investigated more venomously.
Am I the only one to take notice the political ramifications of the recent deaths?
I do not believe in coincidence and this will be no exception.
It leaves me to question those that wield the authority within the City. I have yet to see the increase of patrolling guards. It was with discretion that I contacted, Rowan, Garden District Magistrate, I made a copy and tucked it within these pages as a record of my attempt, as of yet I have heard nothing in response.
I am well versed in my standing within the social structure of the City, I do not put myself above my homestone, nor those that reside within, yet I do not think it is to much to ask that those elected officials be held accountable and provide us with some sort of news on what efforts are being made to ensure the Citizens of Ar that everything that can be done, is being done to the best of their ability.
There needs to be a sense of accountability.
The events confirm the nomination I made for the Poet Szol's for the position of 'Magistrate of the People' I stand behind my recorded opinion concerning the fact that I believe he shall prove to an excellent representation for the Arian low caste.
In light of everything that has happened, I alone have taken the necessary steps to keep my family safe.
The time for complacent sweet silence has passed.
The irony of the rapid approach of the waiting hand is not lost upon me.

Tal Magistrate,

I send forth this scroll in hopes that you and yours are in the best possible health. In light of what I am sure is a very busy schedule I shall keep this scroll brief as to not waste either of our valuable time. I had wanted to speak with you personally however it seems the council is currently in the midst of meetings, I am hoping that they are pertaining to the sudden rash of deaths of several propionate Arian citizens, my growing worries are fueled by the recent kidnapping.
I have alwaysconsidered Ar, relatively safe yet in light of what has recently happened I am beginning to question such, it is not my wish to question your judgement or those of the City leaders, however being my districts elected official I do seek some of information to what is being done concerning my families safety. I am sure that you can understand my concerns.
I wish you the very best Magistrate and look forward to hearing from you soon.
